Facility Specialist

Description

Summary 

Under the direction of the Maintenance HVAC Lead, the Facilities Specialist will participate in projects and day-to-day operations of work in repair, maintenance, coordination of contractors, security of the buildings and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Involved in adjusting HVAC controls/systems and managing facility security system access controls

· Involved in working with outside contractors for all building and grounds services

· Check and monitor buildings and grounds on a continuous basis for potential hazards and security issues; handles security concerns, and roofing issues.

· Assist with purchasing goods and services, getting multiple bids for each project

· Follow safety rules and keep work areas in clean and orderly condition. 

· Fix unsafe conditions and perform all duties in a safe manner.

· Serve as an active member of the Safety team working hand in hand with the EHS Specialist. 

· Manage plant waste materials, including hazardous wastes. Must understand and follow waste management requirements for handling hazardous, nonhazardous, universal and other wastes.

Skills and Experience

· High School Diploma or GED Required

· 3-5 years of experience in facilities or maintenance 

· Some engineering skills required

· Proven ability to work with vendors and contractors

· Proven ability to 

· Computer skills required

· Detail Oriented with the ability to Multi-task

Physical Work Conditions

· Must be able to work in a hot environment

· Must be able to lift varying weights

· Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day

· Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required
