An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join the kitchen brigade at a charming, family-run country house hotel in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

This beautiful 24-bedroom property is renowned for its warm hospitality, stunning surroundings, and commitment to serving quality food using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant offers guests honest, flavour-driven cooking in a relaxed yet professional environment.

We are seeking a confident Sous Chef who can support the Head Chef and take ownership of service when required. Equally, we would be interested in speaking with a strong Junior Sous Chef ready to take the next step in their career.

Salary & Package

• Junior Sous Chef: £30,000 - £32,000
• Sous Chef: £32,000 - £35,000
• Senior Sous Chef: £34,000 - £38,000
• Generous Tronc and tips
• Live-in accommodation available
• Large one-bedroom flat on site (£85 per week)
• 48 hours per week over 5 days

The Role

• Assist in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Support and deputise for the Head Chef
• Run service confidently and maintain high standards
• Help develop and train junior team members
• Maintain food quality, consistency, and kitchen organisation
• Work across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service

The Kitchen

• Current brigade of 3 chefs, expanding to 4
• Approximately 30-50 covers per evening service
• Three daily services:
  • Breakfast: 8:00am – 9:30am
  • Lunch: 12:00pm – 2:30pm
  • Dinner: 6:30pm – 8:30pm

About You

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
• Comfortable leading a service and motivating a team
• Passion for fresh, seasonal food
• Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure
• Looking to progress within a quality-led hospitality business
