Medical Receptionist – Mackay Radiology
Full-Time | Monday to Friday | No Weekends
Are you an experienced Medical Receptionist or customer service professional looking to build your career in healthcare?
Mackay Radiology is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our busy and supportive team in Mackay.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and positive experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of our clinic.
Working alongside experienced Radiologists, technical and administration teams, you’ll gain exposure across a broad range of medical imaging services and have the opportunity to further develop your skills within a specialist healthcare environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent full-time position, working 38 hours per week Monday to Friday with no weekend work.
Reporting to the Clerical in Charge, your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and providing professional, compassionate and efficient service.
- Registering patients and processing relevant documentation.
- Managing incoming calls and responding to patient and referrer enquiries.
- Scheduling and managing appointments using our RIS system, Karisma.
- Providing patients with preparation requirements and relevant appointment information.
- Coordinating appointments to support efficient clinic workflows.
- Providing information regarding fees, Medicare rebates, DVA and third-party insurance claims.
- Processing patient accounts, EFTPOS and cash payments.
- Completing end-of-day processes including billing, Medicare and DVA batching, report follow-up and clinic closures.
- Working collaboratively with our clinical, technical and administration teams to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
ABOUT YOU
You will bring a warm, professional approach and enjoy working in a busy, patient-focused environment.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience within medical administration, radiology or another patient-facing healthcare environment.
- An understanding of medical terminology or an interest in developing your knowledge.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate care, compassion and empathy.
- Excellent keyboard and data-entry skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organisation and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment and solving problems as they arise.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- EFTPOS and cash-handling experience.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
