Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lease Abstraction & Administration
- Identify new, modified, and terminated leases from monthly inquiries and apply Lineage’s materiality thresholds.
- Abstract qualifying leases and modifications into the lease subledger (LeaseController, transitioning to MRI), with key terms referenced to the source contract.
- Verify lease classification and initial ROU asset calculations against system output; maintain the lease tracker and supporting documentation.
- Process modifications and remeasurement events and support mass-import abstractions.
Month-End Close & Journal Entries
- Complete the monthly close review and apply Workday FX rates.
- Convert LeaseController journal entries to Workday accounts and prepare regional files (US, Canada, Europe, and Asia Pacific).
- Load entries through Workday EIB, resolve import errors, and route entries through the approval workflow.
Reconciliations & Account Certification
- Prepare holding cash and balance sheet roll-forward reconciliations and investigate variances above threshold, documenting root cause.
- Support capital lease payment reconciliations for Europe and the UK and communicate differences to local teams.
- Prepare Blackline account certifications with complete supporting documentation.
Financial Reporting & Audit Support
- Support quantitative ASC 842 disclosures for the 10-Q and 10-K and the quarterly lease completeness memo.
- Prepare variance commentary and assist with budget and forecast updates for lease activity.
- Provide documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Partner with AP, Real Estate, Transportation, Procurement, Treasury, Technical Accounting, and regional finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Support lease system implementation work, including data validation and remediation, and help maintain desk procedures.
What Success Looks Like
- Accurate, complete work supported by documentation a reviewer can follow without further explanation.
- End-to-end ownership of assignments, delivered on the close calendar, with risks raised early.
- Timely, clear, and professional communication in writing and in conversation.
- Independent navigation of systems, with feedback incorporated so errors are not repeated.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 1–3 years of public, corporate, or lease accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and strong Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, month-end close environment.
Preferred
- CPA license (CPA candidates considered).
- Public accounting audit experience.
- Familiarity with ASC 842, Workday, and lease software such as LeaseController or MRI.
- Experience in a global, multi-currency environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a thorough, self-directed accountant who takes ownership of their work and communicates well at every level of the organization. Audit experience and a CPA are a strong fit because the role rewards documentation discipline, professional skepticism, and comfort working within internal controls. Lease experience is not required; Lineage will train on ASC 842 and our systems.
