The Global Medical Manager Medical Excellence leads the Medical Affairs-owned external engagement (CORE Medical Affairs) and Scientific Publications processes and serves as the global subject matter expert (SME) for these areas. The role develops and delivers training, guidance, and support to Medical Affairs colleagues worldwide to enable compliant, consistent, and effective execution. The role provides global governance, oversight, and continuous improvement of these processes and coordinates and supports related Health Authority inspections and audits.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Leads the Medical Affairs-owned CORE processes for compliant and successful external engagements and drives continuous process improvement, including:
- Dissemination of promotional and non-promotional content (Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review). Contracting HCPs & HCOs for Professional Services
- Management of HCP/HCO-related grants & sponsorships. Implementation of preceptorships, rovision of membership fees to Medical & Scientific societies
- Distribution of items of medical utility, leads and continuously improves the Scientific Publications process, serves as the global subject matter expert (SME) for the Medical Affairs-owned CORE and Scientific Publications processes and ensures these processes remain current and compliant through close collaboration with relevant functions (e.g., Legal & Compliance)
- Ensures the Medical Affairs-owned CORE and Scientific Publications processes are executed in compliance with internal requirements and external regulations through the development and delivery of training, guidance, and support to the target audience. Serves as SME to Business System Owners (BSOs) by defining process requirements and supporting their implementation within relevant systems and applications. Provides global oversight and governance of the Medical Affairs-owned CORE processes and Scientific Publications process to ensure HA inspection and audit readiness
- Coordinates and supports HA inspections and audits related to the Medical Affairs-owned CORE and Scientific Publications processes in collaboration with Legal & Compliance
- Identifies systemic process gaps and compliance risks and develops remediation plans to ensure sustainable global implementation
What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential Requirements:
- Provides expert guidance on Medical Affairs-owned CORE and Scientific Publications processes
- Maintains globally compliant and current Medical Affairs-owned CORE and Scientific Publications processes
- Delivers training and capability building across the target audience. Ensures inspection and audit readiness for assigned processes
- Drives implementation of process improvements and system enhancements. Advanced degree or equivalent qualification in life science, healthcare, pharmacy, medicine, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years experience in the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry, with significant experience in Medical Affairs Operations, ideally with process governance, or compliance-related activity experience
- In-depth expertise with Medical, Legal and Regulatory (MLR) review process. Experience with Scientific Publications and HCP/HCO engagements, experience in process improvement and training / capability building is preferred, experience in cross-functional coordination, workflow-driven execution, and stakeholder management across multiple functions, experience with Health Authority inspections and audits is preferred
- Proven business mindset including innovative and critical thinking with solution and performance-oriented drive
- Resilient and agile, with strong prioritization skills and a passion for simplification.
