The Maricopa County Legal Defender is searching for a candidate who’s ready to start an exciting career in the legal field! As an Administrative clerk, you will play an essential role in the office by answering and directing incoming calls, sorting and distributing mail, and updating case files and the case management system.

We Require
- Six months of clerical experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
- Six months of experience working in an indigent defense law office
- Six months of experience working in a law firm setting
- Experience with data entry software
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills
Job Contributions
- Utilize the database and other templates to complete correspondence for clientele
- Update client addresses when needed
- Make copies and organize documents
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail daily
- Receive, log, and stock supplies and equipment
- Answer multi-line phone, generate a call log, transfer calls, and relay messages to staff
- Move boxes and other large items as needed
Working Conditions
- All work is completed in an office setting
- Must be able to lift, carry, or push 25-35 pounds for 200-300 feet
- This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and the ability to project an effective and professional phone persona
