Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer to lead the design, development, and optimization of our enterprise-grade backend services. In this role, you will be responsible for building highly scalable, fault-tolerant microservices, defining API contracts, and driving architectural decisions. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will not only write clean, production-ready code but also mentor junior engineers, conduct robust code reviews, and collaborate closely with product managers and architects to translate complex business needs into elegant technical realities.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design: Collaborate with architects and product owners to design scalable backend system architectures, map out integration layers, and establish secure data contracts.
Application Development: Write well-structured, clean, maintainable, and highly optimized server-side code using Java and modern frameworks.
API Development: Design, implement, and maintain robust RESTful APIs or gRPC services to ensure seamless integration across frontend systems and third-party applications.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, perform thorough peer code reviews, and mentor mid-level/junior developers to champion engineering best practices.
Performance Tuning: Proactively profile applications to identify and resolve memory leaks, CPU bottlenecks, and latency issues to ensure systems meet strict SLAs.
CI/CD & DevOps: Enhance continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, ensuring automated testing and seamless containerized deployments.
Production Support & Quality Assurance: Participate in sprint planning, write extensive automated unit/integration tests, and perform root-cause analysis on critical production incidents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 6–8+ years of professional software development experience focusing primarily on Java backend ecosystems.
Core Java: Exceptional mastery of Core Java (Java 11/17/21+ preferred), with deep knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, memory management, and OOP design patterns.
Frameworks: Extensive experience building microservices using modern Java frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Apache Kafka or Quarkus.
Databases: Strong proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle) and NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis). Expert-level SQL optimization skills.
Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience deploying and managing services within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
Messaging & Streaming: Familiarity with event-driven architectures using message brokers like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS.
Testing: Strong discipline in writing clean, mock-driven unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, or Testcontainers.
Methodology: Proven experience working within fast-paced, Agile/Scrum development environments
