Maintenance Officer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Vale of Glamorgan to assist with the appointment of a Maintenance Officer, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £16.10 - £21.07 per hour

Summary:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Maintenance Officer (Painter) to join our repairs and maintenance team. The successful candidate will carry out high-quality internal and external painting and decorating works across council properties, ensuring excellent workmanship while delivering a professional and respectful service to tenants.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works to a high standard.
• Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling, stripping and priming before painting.
• Complete reactive maintenance and refurbishment works within council properties.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain tools, materials and equipment in good working order.
• Provide a courteous and professional service when working in occupied properties.

Essentials:

• Fully qualified Painter and Decorator or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in both internal and external painting and decorating.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Excellent customer service skills with a respectful and professional approach towards tenants.
