Description
Our client is a well-established organisation operating within the manufacturing sector. They are currently seeking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their Finance team and support the day-to-day accounting operations while contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out bank, debtor, supplier, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare cash reports, process bank payments, and assist with cash management activities.
- Prepare and maintain periodic stock reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial, costing, and manufacturing-related reports.
- Compile and submit statistical and statutory information, including VAT returns.
- Support month-end closing activities and other accounting processes.
- Liaise with auditors, debtors, creditors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the IT department to improve financial automation and reporting processes.
- Assist in the implementation and review of internal controls.
- Provide support with financial analysis and ongoing finance-related projects.
- Oversee and provide guidance to Accounts Clerks in their daily duties.
- Carry out other accounting and administrative duties as required by the Finance department.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Holds a Degree in Accountancy or is at an advanced stage of obtaining the ACCA qualification.
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role will be considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in both Maltese and English.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
