Summary of the role

The Associate I, Logistics Facilitates the physical and transactional management of materials through the shipping and receiving department. Completes transactions and documentation associated with shipment of outbound freight in accordance with company and governmental policies. Works with carriers to coordinate pickups of outbound freight per customer requirements. Works closely with customer service and manufacturing to process expedited orders. Assists with processing receipts, putting product away, and filling customer orders. Duties will involve a variety of tasks but not limited to those listed below.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Obtain carrier services to ensure timely deliveries and prepares proper documentation for all modes of transportation to facilitate those deliveries.
Processes carrier bills for freight, sending approved items to outside payment service and allocating those costs to user areas in accordance with department policies.
Provides tracing, proofs of delivery, and freight cost estimates to all Nordson locations/departments.
Maintains transportation and fiscal records of all daily/monthly activities in accordance with corporate legal and federal requirements.
Arranges expedited services when required to facilitate sales or production requirements.
Provides accountability to financial accounting and internal departments for freight cost charges.
Works with representatives from a broad range of functional areas (shipping, accounting, purchasing, receiving, manufacturing, etc.) to investigate/resolve discrepancies.
Advises manufacturing team members and customer service representatives of problems and adjustments to orders resulting from inventory record errors.
Operate forklift for purposes of unloading, put away of inbound product, pick up of manufactured product, picking and loading of outbound shipments when necessary
Perform other duties as required.
Ensure inventory is properly handled such that accuracy is maintained and product is stocked and maintained in an orderly fashion in storage locations.
Responsible for following company policies and procedures involving safety, performance, and quality.
Efficiently and accurately process receipts and put away of incoming purchased and manufactured product.

Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations
Experienced forklift operator
Skills and Abilities
Due to the variety of tasks noted above, and in support of continuous improvement, skill requirements include, but are not limited to:
Experience using computers, and other office type equipment and software.
TECHNICAL ABILITY - effectively apply written/verbal instructions from procedures, documents, etc. Apply math skills appropriate for the assigned task
