Description

CPH is seeking a highly skilled Florida licensed Sr Project Engineer in Water/Wastewater to join our dynamic team in Orlando, FL - Robinson location.

The Project Engineer best suited for this role will be well adjusted to effectively managing a full lifecycle of water/wastewater projects from start to finish inclusive of final stamping of plans serving as EOR. This is a role for an established engineer with an existing track record of success in skillful management of team members and final project deliverables.

An ideal candidate would be comfortable with routine client relations and client meetings are a must with established industry relationships. Specifically, this individual must possess an innate and advanced ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding complex problems and solutions to foster and deliver the best results from our incredible team at CPH! This individual must possess a high level of business acumen and professionalism in all facets of their work with a strong understanding of the overall business from ensuring quality alignment with all project milestones, timelines, and budgets.

This individual must be a well-rounded engineer who is equipped with an extensive technical knowledge of water/wastewater, but also an innate ability for bringing design concepts to fruition with skillful and hands-on design leadership paired with project and client management. To be clear, this is a role for an individual who sees the value of staying close to design throughout their career to continue driving forward best-in-class solutions for our valued clients. 

This individual will ideally come from a background and/or experience of having/supervising direct reports with the ability to speak to major project milestones of success in Water/Wastewater. We are seeking a driven leader and team player who is results oriented and very passionate about this field for the long-term to drive forward the business with best-in-class delivery of water/wastewater solutions for our clients with an anticipatory instinct for mitigating any and all client risk. 

General Position Overview:

The Sr. Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater is responsible for directing the engineering design team in a variety of Water/Wastewater and general public facility projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion.  This role involves coordinating the efforts of the engineering team, contractors, and project managers to achieve project goals efficiently. The Project Engineer IV will ensure all aspect of the project design, from planning to final delivery are met within budget and meeting the required quality standards. 


What You'll Do:

Duties/Responsibilities: 
  • Lead/ manage the planning, design, and production of lift station, pipeline and/or Water/Wastewater treatment systems, overseeing others, providing Project Managers with scopes, ensuring alignment with goals, schedules, and budget.
  • Uses team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development following CPH and client’s standards and templates. 
  • Directs development of an action plan and estimates requirements for resources management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
  • Development of deliverables including plans, design reports and technical specifications.
  • Supervision of junior engineers in evaluation of shop drawings, and oversight of construction administration duties as the Engineer of Record.
  • Monitors progress of development project and compares actual costs with estimates.
  • Prepares monthly reports, detailing progress, and costs for next level management.
  • Works with Project Managers to develop scope and manhour estimates for various projects.
  • Reviews and studies existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Periodic travel to perform business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation. Duty includes preparation or review of subsequent reports and exhibits.
  • Cooperates with other project engineers from other plants to share similar problems and solutions.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external clients.


What You'll Need:

Required Skills/Abilities: 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar software’s platforms.
  • Ability to effectively lead and inspire a team. 
  • Comfortable working and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of codes and design and construction practices. 
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
Education and Experience: 
  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in the state of Florida. 
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering firm with 2+ years with an active P.E. license.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management and industry standards as it relates to pipeline, lift station, and/or Water/Wastewater facility design.
Work Environment:

This position is in a professional office environment. The person in this role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, and filing cabinets. Overtime may be required to meet deadlines.

The person in this position may require sitting or standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 25 pounds.
