Position: Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is a member of Boyd’s Operations team. In a nutshell, our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for asset maintenance and preservation. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and pneumatic systems. A minimum of 3 years of Industrial electrical maintenance experience is preferred. The ability to work as a team and good communication skills are key components for success in this role.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Completes preventative and predictive maintenance on all manufacturing machinery and building equipment.
- Installs and evaluates equipment modifications to ensure maximum effectiveness.
- Performs general maintenance and repairs on the facility’s building, fixtures, and grounds.
- Executes routine inspections of electric forklifts and diagnoses any issues for internal repair or third-party service.
- Demonstrates knowledge and troubleshooting of industrial electrical and pneumatic systems. Must demonstrate ability to work safely with 480v 3Φ.
- Completes assigned tasks safely and in a timely manner. Must be able to document all work performed by end of shift by spreadsheet and email.
- Maximizes equipment operational safety and reliability.
- Conducts regular inspections of all storage racking systems and ensures any damaged racking components are promptly replaced or repaired as required.
- Follows all O.S.H.A. safety programs along with corporate safety policies and best practices.
- Ability to run conduit, move machinery, and do basic rigging required.
- Must always maintain safe work environment by always cleaning up area after a job.
- Maintains 5S Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma in maintenance department at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years electrical maintenance in production environment or 5+ years in industrial maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair 480v electrical/mechanical systems and troubleshoot control voltage
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electric-powered material handling equipment
- Ability to repair all plant machinery safely and efficiently
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, prioritizing workload based on business needs with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Proficient with MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and use of a PC
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Training
- 3+ years Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience
- Experience troubleshooting fire suppression systems
- VFD and PLC experience is a plus
- Experience with CMMS
- Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, to prioritize work and tasks.
- History of working under time constraints with changing priorities and minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Standard plant environment involves lifting moderately heavy items (over 25 and up to 75 pounds) and periods of standing and routine ladder climbing in warehouse.
