New York, NYSenior Director, Creative Production
Architectural Digest is looking for a Senior Director, Creative Production to oversee day to day production as well as ideate, innovate, and execute on pilots and existing series. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of overseeing creative production in original digital video (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, FAST, etc.) and evaluating digital content in a variety of genres relevant to AD’s audience. This person also has a strong understanding of how to execute content for a high-profile, established brand with a growing audience.
The Senior Director will work alongside AD creative leads to expand the digital entertainment portfolio and drive creative production to grow audience, engagement, and monetization.
Responsible for:
Dedicated to producing all AD digital video from greenlight to delivery, across all formats.
Drive storytelling development, vision, and execution for new and returning series, bringing fresh perspective to the AD slate.
Manage creative production team, both through creative and operational needs to ensure content is delivered to brand standards.
Lead cross-team creative brainstorms (with Talent/Casting, Editorial, Audience Development, other) for existing series to elevate the creative to meet or exceed brand standards.
Act as field director for high-quality and high-impact video series, managing projects from pre-production to post, setting a bar for creative excellence.
For all studio and field projects, deliver a distinct creative vision to both production crews and talent. Ensure vision is executed from pre-shoot through post.
In partnership with Production, maintain accountability and brand standards for video execution quality, including creative review, edit, and approval of preliminary and final treatments, outlines, shooting scripts, casting, production schedules, budgets, selects, graphics, music, rough cuts, fine cuts, final narration, and final versions of all executed videos.
Create storyboards, mood boards, casting suggestions, and detailed creative treatments/loglines for ongoing and new digital IP.
View all cuts across production to ensure creative standards are being met.
Collaborate with Creative Optimization and Audience Development teams, applying data and insights into creative decisions.
Collaborate with Revenue teams on creative material requests, balancing business needs with editorial integrity to maximize output.
Who you are:
8+ years of experience in digital media, creating high-impact content with top-tier talent
Proven creative leader with a track record of producing and overseeing video content
4+ years of directing video productions, from lean shoots to multi-camera productions, including directing both professional and non-professional on-camera talent
End-to-end experience developing, producing, and launching digital video that drives strong organic engagement across platforms
Strong creative judgment, with extensive experience providing feedback throughout development, production, and post-production, including collaborating closely with editors to solve creative challenges
Deep understanding of internet culture, with expertise in design, celebrity, lifestyle, and pop culture content, and what performs across platforms
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and collaborate effectively across creative teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach
Experience navigating complex, matrixed organizations and creating a culture of professionalism, accountability, and results
The expected base salary range for this position is from $155,000-$205,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
