The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is looking for a motivated individual to be an Electrical Engineer to assist in developing and supporting complex test solutions in an Operations environment. The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international.  Typical test solutions include custom test platforms, as well as COTS components such as switch systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other related equipment coupled with custom software for performing Environmental Stress Screening as well as testing circuit card assemblies and top-level products. 

This person will have the ability to work independently, while analyzing equipment and conducting experimental tests to establish operating data. This candidate will perform engineering work and applied research, coordinate activities involving the design and development of electronic equipment and devices and prepare engineering sketches and product information documentation.

This is a multi-faceted role requiring versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment. The role requires working closely with engineers and leaders, at various locations around the globe, to ensure project success.  Organizationally, the role reports to an Engineering Manager in the Avionics Test Engineering organization. 

What You Will Do

• Review product designs and create test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments
• Design, analyze, test, integrate, and document hardware of moderate to high complexity
• Integrate and troubleshoot HW & SW solutions
• Work closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical and systems engineering) to ensure the electrical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach
• Ability to reverse engineer existing equipment (e.g., documenting something that is already built)
• Support automated test software development
• Create, review, and verify automated test procedures that will drive software development
• Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management and customers
• Demonstrate excellent time management skills - ability to multitask and delegate work to support technicians, engineering project assistants, and peers
• Develop schedule and budget estimates for engineering development activities
• Demonstrate knowledge of hardware processes, tools, methods, work flow, and best practices

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• Prior Electrical Engineering or RF experience

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
