Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and creative Culinary Services Director at  Cedarwood at Sandy to lead the culinary and dining services program within our community. As a member of the Community Management Team, the Culinary Services Director provides leadership for all culinary operations, delivering innovative, high-quality dining experiences for residents, families, associates, and guests.

 

This role is responsible for overseeing multiple dining venues, developing seasonal menus, and leading a team dedicated to exceptional hospitality. The Culinary Services Director plays a key role in creating memorable dining experiences while ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and compliance with food safety standards. What You’ll Do

Lead Culinary Operations

• Oversee culinary and dining services across multiple venues to ensure high-quality food, beverages, and service
• Develop and deliver thoughtfully designed seasonal menus that reflect creativity, cultural diversity, and resident preferences
• Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and operational cleanliness

Deliver Memorable Resident Experiences

• Create dining experiences residents look forward to at every meal
• Build strong relationships with residents and families while incorporating feedback into menu development and service improvements
• Support community events, promotions, and special dining experiences

Build and Inspire a High-Performing Team

• Recruit, train, and lead culinary and dining associates
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth
• Manage staffing schedules and labor resources to ensure operational efficiency

Drive Operational and Financial Success

• Conduct departmental planning and forecasting based on occupancy and community needs
• Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment maintenance
• Support responsible budget management and cost control initiatives
• Identify opportunities to grow food and beverage revenue through special events, promotions, and enhanced dining experiences

Collaborate Across the Community

• Partner with community leadership to support the overall resident experience and sales initiatives
• Promote the company’s Principles, Values, and Beliefs and The Art of Living Well SM through exceptional hospitality and service

 

What You Bring

• Minimum five (5) years of professional culinary experience, including scratch cooking and kitchen leadership
• Experience leading teams in hospitality, senior living, restaurant, hotel, or healthcare dining environments
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed

 

Certification

• ServSafe Certification required
