Job Description Title: Project Manager
Reports to: VP of Operations
Summary
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for leading and executing high-profile, complex projects from initial handoff through final installation and closeout. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for project scope, schedule, budget, and execution quality while coordinating across sales, design, warehouse, logistics, and installation teams. The Project Manager is expected to independently manage large-scale and strategically important projects, proactively resolve issues, and ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Own end-to-end execution of large, complex, and high-visibility projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules covering specifications, construction milestones, order entry, delivery, installation, and final moves.
• Lead pre-install planning and coordination with Operations leadership to ensure projects are installation-ready and executed at an extremely high level.
• Partner with the project labor estimator to ensure accurate labor scopes, timelines, and cost alignment for assigned projects.
• Proactively identify project risks, constraints, and dependencies; develop and execute mitigation plans to avoid delays or cost overruns.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication, accountability, and execution across all project phases.
• Monitor project financials, change orders, and scope adjustments to ensure alignment with approved budgets and customer expectations.
• Drive resolution of field issues, punch items, and post-install follow-up to ensure full project closeout and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess project readiness, installation strategy, progress, and final walkthroughs.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and providing feedback to operations and leadership based on project learnings.
• Ensure project documentation, reporting, and communication are accurate, timely, and professional.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proven experience managing large, complex, and time-sensitive projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including customer-facing leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively, and operate independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
• Financial acumen related to budgets, labor forecasting, and cost control.
• Willingness and ability to be on-site during critical project phases, including installation and issue resolution.
Time Allocation (Average 45-hour workweek)
• 65% (29 hours/week): Active project execution, coordination, and issue resolution.
• 15% (7 hours/week): Site visits, installation oversight, and field coordination.
• 10% (4.5 hours/week): Project planning, scheduling, and financial tracking.
• 10% (4.5 hours/week): Administrative tasks, reporting, meetings, and customer communication.
Requirements
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License
• Minimum 7 years of related project management experience preferred
• Proven organizational skills and strong follow-through
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
• Flexibility to work after normal business hours as needed to support project milestones and customer expectations
