He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
We are currently looking for a Compliance Inspector to work in our Developer Services team!
This is a great opportunity to balance your time working between our Newmarket offices and onsite. You will work closely with a wide range of people, including contractors, consultants, internal and external stakeholders.
The compliance team works to ensure that the creation, extension and relocation of the water and wastewater network is constructed as per the Auckland Council (AC), Engineering Plan Approval (EPA) and ensures work is done to meet the compliance statement policy and specifications.
You will engage with the construction industry on-site to undertake compliance inspection activities, including pre-construction meetings, inspections/audit and final inspection meetings, to support the approval of newly constructed public assets. The role also undertakes Works Over inspections to verify that works over or in proximity to existing Watercare assets are carried out in accordance with relevant Watercare requirements.

You'll be the connector of things and people, you'll know where to go, who to talk to, and how to keep things moving forward. You will also bring with you the below skills and experience:
- Technical qualification in engineering or trade certificate equivalent.
- 5 - 10 Years’ experience in an engineering or construction role
- Experience in site supervision and construction, and/or water/wastewater industry experience is ideal.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate diverse customers
- A full drivers license.
