[What the role is]
This is a 2-year position as a Senior Data Analyst in the Centre for Learning & Teaching Excellence.[What you will be working on]
The Senior Data Analyst provides expertise in analytics and data management initiatives that support student success, academic quality, and institutional decision-making. You will play a key role in managing and analysing institutional data such as the Graduate Employment Survey (GES), developing learning analytics insights, and facilitating the use of data to enhance teaching & learning and graduate outcomes.
This position involves close collaboration with academic schools and departments to collect and analyse survey data (e.g. Graduate Employment Survey, Freshmen & Progress Surveys), Module Experience Survey, Students Experience of Teaching Survey) from different stakeholders to ensure alignment with best practices in education and industry standards.
The key duties are as follows:
Apply specialist knowledge to champion GES and manage survey data, including data preparation, validation, analysis, reporting and stakeholder coordination
Generate data insights by analysing academic quality, learning and graduate outcomes data to support decision-making
Develop dashboards and reports by creating and maintaining analytics solutions that provide timely and actionable insights
Manage data systems and quality by ensuring reliable data, streamlined processes and effective operation of AQ and analytics systems
Implement analytics innovation by improving workflows through automation, AI and data-driven process changes
[What we are looking for]
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience managing complex datasets
Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx or similar analytics tools
Experience in data modelling, ETL, dashboard development and reporting
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience in higher education, institutional research, survey analytics or systems will be an advantage
