Join Wake Forest Emergency Providers as an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) in North Carolina and become part of Advocate Health, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit integrated health systems. This is a meaningful opportunity to practice emergency medicine with a supportive, collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional care to the community.
Atrium Health Cabarrus Emergency Department in Concord, NC, provides compassionate, high-quality emergency care for patients experiencing life-threatening injuries, illnesses, and other acute medical conditions. From broken bones and severe cuts to heart attacks and strokes, the team is dedicated to delivering timely, expert care when patients and families need it most.
Open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, the emergency department cares for children and adults of all ages. Care teams work quickly and thoughtfully to understand each patient’s symptoms, determine the best next steps, and provide reassurance throughout the care experience.
What you'll do:
Based primarily at Atrium Cabarrus Medical Center, a Level III trauma center with 40 emergency department beds. The APP would mainly support emergency medicine care at Cabarrus, with some rotation or “flow” to the freestanding emergency departments in Kannapolis and Harrisburg.
Location: Greater Charlotte, NC. Concord, NC. Kannapolis, NC, Harrisburg, NC. Cabarrus County
Staff: 33 full time physicians and 22 full time APPs.
At Advocate Health, you are more than a clinician, you're a partner in care and a leader in innovation:
- Clinician Led Medical Group
- APPs are actively engaged in leadership
- Practice at the top of your license
- Structured onboarding and leadership
- Opportunities for new grads and experienced APP's
- CME flexibility and ongoing professional development
- Access to a fully integrated care system
- Competitive salary and benefits
What we offer:
- Annual CME allowance of $3,000.00 and 50 hours paid.
- Comprehensive health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage effective on Day 1
- Retirement match starts at 90 days, and the company will match up to 6%.
- Potential for FSLF as a 501c(3) which – while is not cash in hand – is a significant value-add for most with loan burden.
- Malpractice insurance is provided with tail coverage.
- Quarterly Incentive Bonuses: Eligible Immediately
Licensure: Must have NC PA/NP license (NPs must be ENP boarded or eligible), BLS, ACLS before starting. Must obtain ATLS after starting eventually.
Training: depends on experience level.
Schedule: This role offers 10-hour shifts with flexible monthly hour options of either 130 hours or 151.67 hours, based on candidate preference and team needs. New graduates or APPs newer to emergency medicine are generally encouraged to consider the 151.67-hour option to allow for more hands-on experience and continued skill development. Candidates should be comfortable supporting a variety of shifts, including first, second, and third shift, as well as nights, weekends, and holidays. While overnight coverage is primarily supported by Nocturnists who prefer that schedule, APPs who are not dedicated Nocturnists can typically expect approximately 2–4 night shifts per month.
