Northrop Grumman’s Corporate Analysis Center is an internal think tank that conducts research and analysis to explore ideas about emerging national security concepts, priorities, and trends and help explain the value of Northrop Grumman systems.

Based out of the Falls Church, VA corporate office, the Analyst would be part of the diverse and collaborative Analysis Center team, with the following primary responsibilities:

  • Collect public and open-source information, build foundational data sets, and conduct research and analysis related to: major defense acquisition programs, defense industrial base, program capabilities and cost assessments, and future defense trends.
  • Develop compelling advocacy products that illustrate the value and cost-effectiveness of NGC programs.
  • Provide quick turn analytic support to senior NGC executives on issues relating to national security policies and priorities.

We are looking for talent who are intellectually curious, forward-leaning analytically, and collaborative.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in data science, defense policy, economics, or related fields; or a Master's with at least 2 years.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of complex formulas, data cleaning and management, and building intuitive visualizations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the US national security policy environment, including technology trends and modernization programs.
  • Strong demonstrated quantitative analysis capabilities and writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with 1 year of experience in data science, defense policy, economics, or related fields.
  • Experience or training in conducting cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman products and capabilities.
  • Proficiency in data-oriented languages like Python or R for data manipulation and statistical computing.
  • Background or experience working for the US government, such as the Department of War or Congress, or in defense-oriented think tanks.
  • Active US Government security clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
