Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Business Analyst to document, analyze, and improve technical and operational workflows across our organization. This role will work closely with product managers, software engineers, operations teams, SMEs, and leadership to capture how systems and processes function today and translate that knowledge into clear documentation, workflows, requirements, and process maps.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically curious, and capable of understanding complex systems without needing to be a software engineer. Strong communication skills and the ability to interview stakeholders, identify gaps, and create structured documentation are critical.

This role is especially well-suited for someone who enjoys untangling operational complexity, documenting tribal knowledge, and helping organizations scale through better process clarity.

Responsibilities

• Document technical and operational workflows across multiple departments for use in software design and automation.
• Interview subject matter experts (SMEs), operations staff, and engineering teams to gather requirements and process details
• Create process maps, SOPs, swim lane diagrams, decision trees, and workflow documentation
• Analyze existing workflows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities
• Translate business processes into clear functional requirements for software and AI systems
• Organize and maintain centralized documentation repositories
• Work with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure documentation remains accurate as systems evolve
• Assist with process standardization initiatives
• Support implementation of AI-driven workflow and operational automation initiatives
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and prioritization activities
• Create executive-friendly summaries and presentations explaining operational processes and proposed improvements

Qualifications

• Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, Operations Analyst, or similar role
  • Strong experience documenting workflows and business processes
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Experience creating:
  • Process maps
  • Requirements documentation
  • Workflow diagrams
  • User stories or operational documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail

  Preferred

  • Experience documenting legacy systems or operational modernization projects
  • Experience in regulated industries such as:
  • Aviation
  • Healthcare
  • Background screening
  • Financial services
  • Compliance-heavy environments
  • Basic understanding of APIs, integrations, databases, and software development processes
