Position Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator serves as a key resource for team members and leaders by supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance programs, workers' compensation administration, HR reporting, and compliance initiatives. This role partners closely with hotel leadership and Home Office Human Resources to ensure a positive employee experience and the consistent application of company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Support hiring managers throughout the full recruitment lifecycle.
- Manage and monitor the applicant tracking system.
- Review resumes and conduct initial candidate screenings.
- Coordinate interviews and candidate communications.
- Respond promptly to applicant inquiries.
- Partner with Home Office Human Resources regarding job postings and recruiting initiatives.
- Build relationships with local colleges, hospitality programs, community organizations, and workforce development partners.
- Represent the hotel at job fairs, networking events, and hiring initiatives.
Onboarding & Employee Records
- Process new hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, and separations.
- Ensure completion and accuracy of all employment documentation.
- Coordinate background checks, employment verification, and educational verification processes.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
- Ensure employees complete co-employer and company onboarding requirements.
- Maintain personnel files and employment records in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Employee Relations & HR Support
- Assist in fostering a positive, engaging, and service-focused workplace culture.
- Serve as a resource for team members regarding employment-related questions and concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and candidate information.
- Collaborate with Home Office Human Resources and Human Resources Business Partners to address employee relations matters.
- Provide timely and professional support to employees and managers.
Workers' Compensation & Safety Programs
- Support hotel-level workers' compensation administration.
- Complete required claim documentation and incident reporting.
- Coordinate communication among injured employees, insurance carriers, Home Office Human Resources, and co-employer representatives.
- Coordinate monthly safety initiatives and Safety Committee activities.
- Attend Safety Committee meetings and maintain meeting documentation and records.
Employee Engagement & Training
- Assist with company-wide employee programs and initiatives.
- Support annual performance review processes.
- Assist with employee engagement surveys and follow-up initiatives.
- Coordinate employee recognition programs and appreciation events.
- Support training programs, service excellence initiatives, and team member development efforts.
- Ensure company communications and HR-related materials are distributed effectively.
Reporting, Compliance & Administration
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze HR reports and data.
- Utilize HRIS and other systems to generate reports and support business needs.
- Assist with research, surveys, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, employment practices, and applicable regulations.
- Support special projects and additional HR initiatives as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Human Resources, recruiting, hospitality, or administrative experience preferred.
- Knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR processes.
- Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Teams, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Hospitality or Marriott experience preferred but not required.
