Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our FP&A-PDMS team.  You will report directly to the Finance Director - Head of FP&A for PDMS and will partner with both the VP of Data Management and the VP of Platform. In this capacity you will serve as a trusted financial advisor, guiding and providing insights on investments, portfolio analysis and technology decision support, while adhering to your fiduciary duties as a member of the finance organization. You'll also lead financial consolidation for PDMS FP&A, tell the spend story of the division, and represent the division in technology rollout decisions and change management. The ideal candidate blends business and financial acumen with a creative, flexible mindset: strong working knowledge of financial and strategic planning, accounting, and business development; outstanding quantitative skills; and the curiosity to engage on complex technical topics. You're comfortable working across a matrixed, multi-level organization to gather and synthesize data, and to communicate and influence stakeholders effectively and on time. Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, closing and reporting of financial performance for the Data Management and Platform organizations
• Own PDMS finance spend consolidation
• Represent PDMS finance in technology rollout decisions, testing, and change management

• Provide financial support for topline decisions (product tiering, business model, pricing, M&A) to build or validate financial models and articulate financial impact

• Drive ad-hoc financial analyses and models to inform and support recommendations and business cases
• Advise business leaders, primarily the VP and their staff, on business and financial decisions
• Partnering: You’ll act as a trusted advisor embedded in the leadership team, advising on where to invest or reallocate resources to hit strategic goals
• Analyzing business performance: You’ll be reviewing the actual results of the business KPIs; analyzing and articulating the financial impact of investments and driving maximized ROI
• Problem Solving: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to navigate through systems and people, drive process improvement and enhance reporting capabilities
• Engaging with new technology: You’ll help lead our organization through technology changes, with a focus on driving clarity, favoring progress over perfection

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (finance, accounting, economics or equivalent preferred)
• CPA or MBA is desired but not required
• 8+years of finance and business partnering experience
• Prior experience supporting a software product organization preferred
• Ability to operate at both strategic and day-to-day levels
• Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making at all levels
• Effective & concise communicator
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a global and matrixed environment preferred
• AI-first mindset with eagerness to experiment with emerging technology
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience using technologies and tools, including dashboards, financial modelling software, and automation tools (e.g. Anaplan, Alteryx, Power BI, Power Query, Qlikview, SAP, Snowflake)

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $116,000 and $169,400. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
