Production Supervisor

Description

Bay Insulation of Texas - Houston is active looking for a Production Supervisor to manage local scheduling and real-time operations. The right person will direct and manage all plant operations which facilitate the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals. Responsible for production, machine maintenance, quality controls, and all other production related activities is also part of the position.

Essential Functions:

Production

1. Direct and manage plant operation for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving

2. Coordinate plant activities through the Division Manager to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner

3. Establish and monitor plant performance for production and quality standards

4. Assists with maintaining proper inventory levels of consumable and sellable goods

5. Ensure finished goods and W.I.P. materials are appropriately staged in designated areas

Supervisory

1. Supervises the Team/Crew Leaders and other plant personnel

2. Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives

3. Works directly with the Division Manager regarding all employee issues, including employees from a temp agency

4. Assists with hiring of plant personnel through interviews and/or through temp agency

5. Coordinate shift change communication with other employees and staff

Safety

1. Reports any work-related accident, injury or near-miss to the Division Manager

2. Must complete the required paperwork in a timely manner to ensure reporting requirements are met

3. Ensures all plant personnel are in compliance with PPE Requirements at all times [I.E. Safety Glasses, Safety/Steel Toe Shoes/Boots, Company Issued Uniform and/or Hi-Vis Safety Vest]

Requirements

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skill Required 

· 2 plus years previous production management experience including forecasting, scheduling and real-time production management 

· Experience in a production or distribution environment 

· Experience supervising, coaching and developing staff 

· Working knowledge of building supply or construction industry preferred 

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

· Works well with management. peers and subordinates
