What is the opportunity?
RBC is seeking an experienced Senior Analyst, Investment Policy. This role combines analytical expertise with cross-functional collaboration to lead project execution on performance, portfolio management, compliance monitoring, and trading initiatives at RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM). The successful candidate will drive process improvements, maintain portfolio risk monitoring practices, and support the development and enhancement of investment solutions across our institutional and wealth management offerings.
What will you do?
- Monitor and report compliance breaches generated from Trade Order Management System to ensure funds are managed in accordance with investment guidelines and regulatory rules
- Prepare daily breach reports, monthly Investment Mandate Review reports, and various compliance reports
- Collaborate with IT and support groups on automation of data feeds to reduce data exceptions and address data gaps
- Lead/Support process and data flow automation initiatives in the Investment Policy area
- Participate in investment policy statement development for funds and segregated accounts
- Develop and test investment models to assist with new investment solutions development process
- Conduct back-testing of proposed investment strategies and leverage investment expertise to benefit clients
- Monitor trading activity, including best execution monitoring, exception reporting analysis, and post-trade P&L threshold reviews
- Conduct annual reviews and screen/approve instruments in compliance with applicable policies
- Act as liaison with RBC GAM IT team for developing and implementing new applications and system enhancements
- Provide support for internal and external audits and ad-hoc requests from Legal, Compliance, and other GAM teams
- Engage in various front office projects as required
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in investment management, portfolio analytics, or a related field
- Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access database
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of regional and local financial markets, economic disciplines, and regulation
- In-depth knowledge of investment industry products and services
- Proficiency with Morningstar, eVestment, Bloomberg, and Trade Order Management Systems (e.g., Charles River Development)
- Demonstrated experience with compliance systems, risk monitoring, and investment policy frameworks
- Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration and project delivery
Nice-to-have
- CFA designation or progress toward CFA
- Proficiency in programming languages (SQL, R, Python, MATLAB, etc.)
- Familiarity with derivatives instruments (IRS, CDS/CDX, FX) and their trade workflows
- Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously under demanding deadlines

Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$67,000.00 - $110,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location.
