Ready to take your career global?
At Global Payments, trust is at the heart of every transaction. As a Risk and Compliance Leader, you’ll shape the controls, resilience and risk practices that protect our business, clients and payment ecosystem. Your work will help Global Payments stay ahead of changing payment network requirements while reducing exposure to financial, operational and compliance risk.
What you’ll own
- Lead payment network compliance by guiding a team that analyzes technical specifications, identifies business impacts and translates requirements into solutions that keep Global Payments compliant.
- Drive compliance remediation and risk reduction by overseeing technology solutions, challenging gaps and ensuring delivery aligns with payment network regulations and internal standards.
- Strengthen business resilience by owning Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning for Encryption Services, maintaining readiness and leading exercises that prepare teams for internal and external threats.
- Protect sensitive information and assets by driving key management compliance reviews, audits and offsite storage controls that meet Payment Card Industry (PCI) and association requirements.
- Shape responses to complex risk events by investigating fraud and other sensitive issues, developing mitigation strategies and partnering with law enforcement, legal teams and card brands when needed.
- Influence client risk outcomes by providing consultative guidance on Risk Mitigation Tools (RMTs), serving as an escalation point and helping clients adopt solutions that reduce risk.
- Build risk awareness across Global Payments by creating clear communications, implementation guides, bulletins, webinars and forums that turn complex risk and compliance topics into practical guidance.
- Strengthen decision-making through insight by developing effective reporting, analyzing risk data and providing clear summaries that give leaders the information they need to manage exposure and protect the business.
What you bring
- At least six years of relevant professional experience, with a strong background in risk, compliance, payments, technology, financial risk or a related field.
- People leadership experience, ideally including one to two years in a supervisory role, with the ability to set direction, build capability and create accountability within a team.
- Strong knowledge of payment network requirements and compliance, with the ability to interpret complex technical specifications and translate them into practical business and technology outcomes.
- Experience managing risk and resilience programs, including Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, audits, compliance remediation or loss prevention.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to investigate complex events, manage sensitive issues and make sound decisions in high-impact situations.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, enabling you to work effectively with clients, technology teams, senior leaders, legal teams, card brands and other partners.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university, or equivalent relevant professional experience in place of a degree.
It’s a bonus if you have
- Experience with payment networks, card brands or Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements, with the ability to navigate changing compliance expectations and translate them into practical business outcomes.
- Experience with encryption services, key management or data protection, including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning, audits or risk assessments.
- Experience managing complex risk or fraud events, including work with legal teams, law enforcement, clients or senior leaders to investigate issues and drive effective risk mitigation.
