About Team:
This position is with US Omni tech (Merchant Operations Team) and is responsible for Merchant operations support for our retail and ecommerce lines of business. To improve the Merchants/Supplier Support experience and increase self-adoption rate in resolving their item issues by educating Merchants/Suppliers with the help docs which will improve the impact of changes in Walmart's business processes on the Supplier/Merchant and End-user experience (End to End Item setup and Maintenance)
With our rapidly increasing footfalls in stores and exponential growth in online orders; this all must be done to scale millions of owned and marketplace SKU’s complete inbound and outbound fulfilment lifecycles. Operations team will minimize any disturbance to Supply chain operations by proactively identifying and remediate potential cause resulting in minimum to zero system downtime to meet Walmart’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Guidelines and work with vendors to retrieve additional information as needed. The team will also set standards for supply chain management and deliver high quality catalog across omni channel platform to provide better user & customer experience across thousands of Walmart stores and ecommerce businesses.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager II (IN4 Level) to lead and support a team of associates in delivering high-quality operational outcomes. This role requires a strong balance of people management, technical oversight, and process governance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for team performance, quality assurance, SOP management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
As a Manager II at IN4 level within the US Omni Tech – Merchant Operations Team, you will lead a team responsible for supporting Walmart’s retail and e-commerce businesses by ensuring high-quality item setup and maintenance. You will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, managing team performance, and ensuring compliance with Walmart’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role requires a strong focus on quality audits, SOP governance, and cross-functional collaboration to improve the merchant and supplier experience.
What you'll do:
- Process expertise in category/product details validation in retail business
- Own the creation, maintenance, and review of SOPs for existing and new processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure SOPs reflect current business needs and system changes.
- Conduct periodic SOP reviews with associates to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Identify and eliminate process redundancies and inefficiencies through SOP updates and training
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding team performance and process updates.
- Partner with Product, Tech, and Ops teams to resolve complex issues and support new initiatives. Provide feedback on system enhancements.
- Proactively resolve all the Item related issues reported by Merchants and Suppliers.
What you will bring:
- Provide regular feedback for the issues reported, applications and products associated with Suppliers/Merchants and improve the TAT for item setup and resolve recurrence of issues
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of associates to meet and exceed performance metrics.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
- Manage team schedules, workload balancing, and shift planning.
- Oversee day-to-day operations related to item setup and maintenance.
- Conduct regular quality audits of team outputs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to SOPs.
- Analyze audit findings and implement corrective actions or training as needed.
- Monitor KPIs and SLAs, and drive initiatives to improve turnaround time (TAT) and reduce issue recurrence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/master’s in computer science or engineering or related field with 8-10 years’ work experience in Retail/e-Commerce Industry and a Proficient in understanding of e-commerce Operations, with at least 2 years in a people management role.
- Proven track record of managing high-performing teams and driving process improvements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Proficiency with Visio a plus
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
- Proactive, strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and inspire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to translate business issues into technical requirements and vice versa when working with engineering and product teams.
- Comfortable participating in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and providing feedback on system changes or new features.
- Experience in documenting technical processes and creating knowledge base articles for internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with catalog management systems, exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for reporting and insights generation.
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic software development lifecycle concepts.
