Job Summary
The HSE Specialist at Hitachi, Ltd. will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards.
How you'll make an impact
- Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work processes to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors on topics such as hazard communication, emergency procedures, confined space entry, and ergonomic safety.
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Prepare and submit all required HSE reports to regulatory agencies and internal management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate HSE considerations into project planning, design, and operations.
- Maintain and update HSE documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and permits.
- Monitor changes in HSE regulations and industry best practices to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.
- Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and drills.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization through communication, awareness campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in an HSE role within a manufacturing, industrial, or technology environment.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting HSE audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Extensive experience in Emergency Response Planning, Contractor HSE Management, HSE Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification.
- Experience in Environmental Compliance Management and knowledge of Industrial Hygiene Fundamentals
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
