Want to help lead the way in redefining how we shop online? The Group Director of Tooling, Automation, and Business Operations is a critical Site Merchandising leader responsible for building and scaling a high-impact team focused on business and site insights, operational excellence, and automation. This role serves as a single, strategic partner to Product, Tech, and UX – driving efficiency, unlocking smarter decision-making through data, and implementing scalable tooling that enhances site performance. They’ll champion innovation and continuous improvement to create a more seamless, efficient, and insight-driven online shopping experience that accelerates eCommerce growth.

What you'll do...

What You'll Do...

  • Set the strategy for scalable site operations. Define the vision, operating model, and roadmap for how Site Experience teams use tools, insights, automation, and standardized processes to deliver faster, more consistent customer experiences at scale.
  • Strategically advise Site Merchandising strategy. Provide an enterprise-wide point of view on site performance, operating health, priorities, capabilities, and emerging opportunities to the Vice President of Site Merchandising. Use business, customer, and operational insights to inform strategic decisions, shape the site roadmap, and align cross-functional teams around the highest-impact opportunities.
  • Build the business and site insights-to-action engine. Lead a team that monitors site and business performance, identifies operational opportunities and friction points, and translates insights into clear actions that improve customer experience, speed, and business outcomes.
  • Own the operational partnership across Product, Technology, and UX. Serve as the primary business operations partner for Product, Tech, and UX – aligning priorities, clarifying requirements, removing execution barriers, and ensuring site capabilities are designed for operational scale.
  • Lead critical site tools and platform work. Drive business ownership, roadmap input, adoption, and operational readiness across key capabilities, including CX Tools, DGF, PRISM, Homepage, and Smart Creative. Ensure these tools solve meaningful business problems and are effectively embedded into team workflows.
  • Lead site continuous-improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to simplify and modernize the site operating model, improve workflows and tools, and evolve how teams execute against changing customer and business needs.
  • Accelerate automation and tooling adoption. Identify high-volume, manual, or error-prone work and develop scalable automation solutions that reduce complexity, save time, improve accuracy, and create capacity for higher-value work.
  • Create clear ways of working and operational governance. Establish standard processes, decision rights, intake mechanisms, prioritization frameworks, launch readiness requirements, and performance routines that enable teams to execute with speed and accountability.
  • Own business operations and performance management. Develop the reporting, KPIs, planning processes, and operating cadences that give leaders visibility into site health, team capacity, tool performance, execution quality, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and develop a high-performing organization. Recruit, coach, and develop a team of strategic operators who combine customer obsession, analytical rigor, technical fluency, and strong cross-functional leadership.

What You’ll Bring…

  • Extensive experience leading digital operations, eCommerce operations, product operations, site experience, or business operations teams within a large, complex organization.
  • Demonstrated success developing scalable operating models, simplifying complex workflows, and driving measurable improvements in speed, quality, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce site operations and the interconnected roles of Product, Technology, UX, Creative, Analytics, and business teams in delivering customer-facing experiences.
  • Strong business and advanced analytics/predictive modeling acumen, including the ability to define performance metrics, diagnose operational issues, build business cases, and translate big data in a complex data infrastructure into clear priorities and action.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale automation, tooling, or platform-adoption initiatives – from identifying business needs through implementation, change management, and sustained adoption.
  • Experience establishing cross-functional governance, operating cadences, prioritization frameworks, and launch-readiness processes in fast-paced environments.
  • A track record of leading high-performing teams and influencing senior stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills, executive presence, and a customer-first, continuous-improvement mindset.
