If you believe you’re right for the job, this is the place to prove it!
We are seeking a Marketing Manager to lead audience development and B2B marketing for the American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC) and Managed Healthcare Executive (MHE) brands. Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role manages a team of direct reports and owns the strategy for growing, segmenting, and engaging our audiences of managed care, payer, health system, and industry decision-makers. You will build integrated, omnichannel marketing plans that drive brand awareness, audience acquisition, lead generation, and long-term engagement across B2B and B2C channels.
What You'll Do
- Grow and engage senior decision-makers at health plans, PBMs, health systems, IDNs, ACOs, academic institutions, community cancer centers, GPOs, and employer groups as core audiences for AJMC and MHE
- Use AI tools to accelerate audience research, campaign planning, copy development, lead scoring analysis, and performance reporting, maintaining brand accuracy and strategic alignment across all deliverables
- Develop and execute audience growth strategies across email, newsletter and text subscriptions, and digital channels, with ownership of segmentation and targeting in partnership with data and operations teams
- Leverage third-party data to identify and prioritize target audiences, and pursue new audience sources through partnerships and content-driven capture
- Monitor audience health metrics including growth, engagement, deliverability, and retention, and recommend actions to improve them
- Plan and run B2B campaigns targeting decision-makers at pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to drive sponsorship opportunities and support sales and business development
- Build lead generation programs including account-based targeting and handoff processes, and partner with business development to develop marketing materials and audience insights that demonstrate brand value to sponsors and partners
- Execute integrated campaigns on plan and on time across email, paid digital and search, social, print and digital advertising, direct mail, and marketing partnerships
- Write and oversee copy for marketing collateral so positioning and messaging are right for each target audience; brief creative on assets and route them for stakeholder approval
- Manage, coach, and develop direct reports, including goal setting, work assignment, regular feedback, and performance reviews; participate in hiring and onboarding for the team
- Develop and manage marketing budgets, oversee vendor contracts, and track and report weekly on audience growth, lead generation, and campaign performance to the Marketing Director
- Collaborate with content, project management, business development, and creative teams to align on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
What Sets You Apart
- 5 or more years of marketing experience, including audience development and B2B marketing; healthcare or managed care experience preferred
- 2 or more years of people management experience, with a track record of developing team members and driving results through others
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation, CRM, and email platforms, with the ability to use data to make and defend recommendations
- Active use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity to accelerate audience research, campaign planning, and analytical work in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment
- Strong analytical skills with comfort turning data into prioritized actions and clear reporting
- Excellent writing, project management, and cross-functional communication skills
- Test-and-learn orientation — you form hypotheses, run experiments, and use results to improve future campaigns
AI Capability Expectation
Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they currently use AI in their marketing work. This includes:
- Specific tools in active use and how they support audience research, campaign planning, copy development, lead analysis, or performance reporting
- How AI has changed the speed or quality of marketing deliverables, particularly across B2B campaigns or multi-channel audience development programs
- How you maintain strategic alignment, brand voice, and data accuracy when using AI-assisted content or analysis before it reaches stakeholders or enters production
- Bonus: examples of AI-enhanced marketing workflows that improved audience growth, lead generation quality, or team output across concurrent priorities
Compensation Range
65,000 - 75,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. Compensation will depend on factors including educational background, skills, and professional experience.
