Description
Mission Delivery Coordinator
Part-Time | Hiring Range: $20-22/hour, up to 24 hours per week
Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida has a fantastic opportunity available for a part-time Mission Delivery Coordinator!
If you enjoy working with people, being out in the community, and having a job where your day-to-day work changes throughout the year, this may be the role for you.
As a Mission Delivery Coordinator, you will provide hands-on support for programs, events, recruitment activities, campaigns, and other priorities across Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. Rather than working within just one department, you will support different Council initiatives throughout the year based on organizational needs, seasonal demands, your availability, and your individual strengths.
You may find yourself:
- Helping facilitate a Girl Scout program or activity
- Supporting a signature event like Mall Madness, STEAMapalooza, or Rock the Noc
- Representing Girl Scouts at a school or community recruitment event
- Supporting membership recruitment and troop formation
- Preparing materials, supplies, and activity stations for an event
- Supporting Product Program initiatives, including the Cookie Sale
- Working to prep for summer camp and more!
You will have the opportunity to work alongside a variety of staff members, volunteers, and departments to help bring the plans to life. Your responsibilities may include facilitating activities, assisting girls and families, preparing and transporting materials, setting up and breaking down events, capturing prospective member information, providing customer service, completing administrative tasks, and helping ensure programs and events run smoothly.
Reporting to the Director of Mission Delivery, you will have the opportunity to learn about many different areas of Girl Scouts while building hands-on experience in programs, events, recruitment, community engagement, and Council operations.
Because this is a flexible, community-based role, your schedule and work location will vary depending on the initiatives you support. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, is dependable, and is comfortable jumping in wherever an extra set of capable hands is needed.
Who are we seeking?
- Someone who enjoys working directly with girls and is comfortable facilitating activities and engaging groups in program, event, and community settings.
- A friendly and confident communicator who can engage effectively with children, families, volunteers, colleagues, and community members.
- Someone who provides great customer service and can represent Girl Scouts professionally and enthusiastically in the community.
- A dependable team member who arrives prepared and on time, follows through on commitments, and communicates proactively about scheduling and availability.
- Someone who can follow established plans, instructions, procedures, and safety requirements while using good judgment in day-to-day situations.
- An organized person who can manage their time, keep accurate records, and reliably complete assigned responsibilities.
- Someone who can work independently when needed while staying connected with the appropriate project lead and knowing when to ask questions or escalate an issue.
- A flexible learner who can move between different types of assignments and quickly learn new processes, responsibilities, and areas of Council work.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to learn Council technology and systems used for communication, registration, data collection, and reporting.
What else will you need?
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education or coursework in youth development, education, recreation, community engagement, sales, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- At least one (1) year of relevant work or volunteer experience is strongly preferred. Relevant experience may include youth programs, camps, education, childcare, recreation, community engagement, customer service, events, sales, or membership organizations.
- Experience working directly with children or youth is strongly preferred.
- Prior Girl Scout experience or familiarity with the scouting program and troop model is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, or another language commonly spoken within our service area is a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on assigned initiatives, including daytime, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the Council's service area and work in a variety of settings, including schools, community locations, Council facilities, offices, and indoor and outdoor environments. GSSEF makes every effort to assign employees to locations close to home when possible, though some assignments may require travel to other areas within the Council's service territory.
- Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and eligibility for coverage under applicable Council insurance.
What will you get?
- The opportunity to do meaningful, hands-on work that directly supports girls and families throughout Southeast Florida.
- A role with variety, where you can build experience across programs, events, community engagement, membership recruitment, and other areas of Girl Scouts.
- Opportunities to learn new skills through cross-training and exposure to different areas of Council operations.
- An energetic, mission-driven team that works hard, has fun, and is committed to building the future leaders of tomorrow.
