Your Role: Meet the Challenge

In this role, you will manage the purchasing function for both direct and indirect materials, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational excellence, and supply chain performance. You will oversee sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, inventory optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to support manufacturing operations and sustainable growth.

 

The work model for the role is: Onsite.

 

Global relocation and/or long-term assignment (LTA) support is not available for this position.

 

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Buildings business line in Ramos Arizpe, partnering closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics, Finance, and Manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the procurement team responsible for direct and indirect purchasing activities.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals, cost targets, quality requirements, and delivery expectations.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, contracts, and performance evaluations.Ensure material availability to support manufacturing operations while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Manage inventory management initiatives and monitor key supply chain performance indicators.
• Collaborate with Planning, Logistics, Operations, and Finance teams to improve procurement and supply chain performance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimization, supplier development, and process efficiency.
• Leverage SAP tools and reporting capabilities to improve procurement excellence and data-based decision-making.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure business continuity.
• Support import and export activities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop an effective purchasing team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, International Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in direct and indirect procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including people management and team development.
• Experience working in multinational manufacturing companies.
• Solid knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and strategic sourcing.
• Experience managing inventory levels and implementing inventory optimization initiatives.
• Practical experience using SAP for procurement, materials management, and reporting activities.
• Advanced or fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an onsite manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of import and export processes.

 

Nice to have experience

• Experience in electrical, industrial, automation, or manufacturing industries.
• Experience managing procurement transformation or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of supply chain planning and logistics processes.
• Experience working with global suppliers and international sourcing strategies.
