Summary:
The Academic Project Coordinator works within the Academic Affairs department. The Academic Project Coordinator will work closely with the Academic Affairs Project Manager to assist with the coordination of resources, equipment, meetings, and information. They organize projects with the goal of getting them completed on time and within budget.Job Description:
Essential duties and responsibilities
Ensure all parts of an assigned project are processed, organized, and progressing according to predetermined timelines and deliverable dates.
Assist in delegating tasks to team members, based on individual strengths and abilities.
Create progress reports and follow up with team members for status updates.
Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to achieve maximum benefit.
Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project needs.
Act as a point of communication on project-related deliverables.
Deepen partnerships with external vendors and researchers.
Handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work on tight deadlines.
Organizing, attending, and participating in stakeholder meetings.
Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
Work diligently to ensure projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets.
Achieve organizational goals while upholding standards and best practices
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Demonstrated experience with productivity and project management tools.
Strong critical thinking/problem-solving skills.
Flexibility to shift focus in a fast-paced environment with continually changing priorities.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Must be able to adhere to common project management techniques such as scope, schedule, budget, reporting, etc.
Working knowledge of project management platforms like Microsoft Teams.
Must possess superior computer skills across PC, OS, and iOS platforms.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required
Minimum of 2 or more years of experience working in project management.
Project Management Certification or training preferred
