Overview
Waters Corporation is currently leading a search for a Pricing Analyst to support the Pricing function for our Analytical Sciences Division. Analytical Sciences is the commercial engine for Waters Corporation, providing Sales, Service, Marketing, Technical and other support across the globe. The pricing function is primarily responsible for pricing strategy, pricing analytics, price measurement, value pricing, pricing governance & oversees pricing execution across the organization. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager of FP&A, Asia Pacific.
Responsibilities
Waters is a complex global organization comprising of multiple product lines with different pricing dynamics, complex data sources & systems. Hence foundational pricing analytics is critical for pricing team to provide analytics insights and drive business results.
The pricing analyst will perform the following duties:
- Consolidate multiple data sources acting as a starting point for all pricing analytics.
- Develop foundational analytics comprising of pricing scorecard, price realization, stick rate, YOY revenue/margin bridge & profitability at granular level for all countries & product lines.
- Develop list price recommendations specific to region and product category based on multiple attributes including historical pricing, pricing elasticity, market conditions, competitive landscape, gap analytics, FX rates & overall profitability.
- Build account level deal models to optimize revenue, margin and pricing at account level specific to key & strategic accounts.
- Develop pricing guidance/corridors (hard floor, target, stretch price) for specific products lines & regions based on current pricing in market, competitive pricing, historical pricing & other attributes.
- Perform discount control analytics (peer group analytics) & identify areas of opportunity to reduce discount and improve margin.
- Develop ‘portfolio pricing’ approach to optimize margin at account level which includes all product lines.
- Perform analytics for new products pricing including peer pricing, expected discount, competitive discount and pricing strategy (penetrate/neutral/skim).
- Perform routine tasks including monthly reporting (pricing scorecard), QBR (quarterly business review), price impact analysis, discount trending analysis.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting, preferably within a publicly traded manufacturing company.
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to validate, synthesize complex data sets to simplified data sets & business insights. Ability to communicate effectively business insights derived from complex data sets to stakeholders with little or no analytics background.
- Thorough knowledge of computerized application systems including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, and preferably, SAP and BW or Analysis for Office experience
- Experience in BI tools like Tableau, Power BI.
- Position requires high levels of organization, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage a variety of competing deadlines
- The individual must be able to work closely in a team environment and have the communication skills and poise to do so effectively
