Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Black Bear Talent is hiring an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support daily housekeeping operations and help maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-prepared property. This role requires previous housekeeping lead experience in a hotel or resort environment and a hands-on approach to supervising employees and maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Housekeeping Manager with daily operations, work assignments, and staff coverage.
• Oversee housekeeping operations in the manager’s absence.
• Lead and support housekeeping employees to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and assigned spaces meet cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Inspect completed rooms and assigned areas, address deficiencies, and follow up on needed corrections.
• Train employees on cleaning procedures, safe chemical use, equipment operation, and property standards.
• Coordinate with the front desk and maintenance teams regarding room readiness, guest requests, and repair needs.
• Monitor cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment, and communicate replenishment needs.
• Respond promptly and professionally to housekeeping concerns and guest requests.
• Assist with scheduling, attendance tracking, and employee performance feedback.
• Perform housekeeping duties to support the team during busy periods or staffing shortages.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience as a housekeeping lead or supervisor.
• Prior housekeeping experience in a hotel and/or resort environment.
• Must be available to work weekends and rotating holidays.
• Strong knowledge of guest room cleaning, public area upkeep, and housekeeping inspection standards.
• Ability to assign work, train employees, and provide clear direction.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Professional communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to work alongside the team and manage changing priorities.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of housekeeping, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and pushing housekeeping carts.
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
