National Interstate is looking for a Facilities Supervisor to join their team. This individual will work full time out of the Richfield, Ohio office.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Coordinates routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems. Ensures work is completed to standards.
- Assigns and monitors responses to maintenance requests. Provides guidance on troubleshooting issues in office spaces, common areas, and building systems.
- Leads repair work on office furniture, fixtures, and minor structural components.
- Plans and leads grounds maintenance activities, including snow and ice removal operations.
- Coordinates and manages external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations; verifies compliance with specifications and safety requirements.
- Ensures team adherence to company and regulatory safety programs. Conducts safety audits and addresses compliance gaps.
- Reviews and maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Prepares reports for management as needed.
- Leads emergency response protocols and directs disaster recovery efforts in collaboration with leadership.
- Oversees office moves, furniture setups, and workspace reconfigurations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- May lead the team in providing janitorial support as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Generally, a minimum of 6 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Requires a minimum of 2 reports. Responsible for overseeing team priorities and coordinating daily tasks. May occasionally perform tasks alongside direct reports. Operates under policies and procedures with limited oversight. Responsible for performance and coaching of staff and has a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management. Maintains advanced knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems. Maintains advanced knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, industry developments, and evolving best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Provides training to new members of the team.
