Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. Your Role

• From the early stages of development, you will contribute to designing thermal and fluid-dynamic architectures for mechatronic and optical components, taking performance, timing, and cost into account.
• You will develop models and methods for system identification and control of thermal systems used in metrology solutions for the semiconductor industry.
• As a Systems Engineer, you will develop concepts and validate them through 1D/3D simulations, as well as define tests for design verification and model validation.
• You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams comprising internal and external developers, service providers, and suppliers.
• An important part of your role will be to define and align requirements in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, as well as to prepare development documentation.
• You will also be responsible for ensuring design verification, manufacturability and integrability, as well as effective risk management.

Your Profile

• You have an excellent university degree in aerospace engineering, mechatronics, cybernetics, process engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics, combined with professional experience in both industry and academia.
• You have in-depth knowledge of numerical modeling, system identification, model reduction, and control of thermal systems.
• You have several years of experience in the thermal and thermoelastic design of components, as well as in programming and the application of CFD and finite element methods using ANSYS, MATLAB, and Python.
• You work independently and systematically and have excellent organizational and communication skills.
• You enjoy working as part of an interdisciplinary team in a highly dynamic environment.
• You have excellent skills in organizing, communicating, and presenting tasks and work results.
• You have excellent written and spoken English skills.
