Responsible for the effective delivery of business change management activities across projects and initiatives. Ensure that the desired business outcomes are achieved and that the relevant stakeholders are ready and prepared for the change. Drive the change management process through support of analysts and shared service staff. Manage the development of business and customer impact assessments, stakeholder analysis, business transition plans, business readiness, and/or communication plans. Ensure effective communication and implementation strategies. Liaise with support functions in HR or corporate communications to help support an overall project initiative. Oversee the definition of training needs and delivery plans of various initiatives and lead the initiative involving company training specialists. Identify and develop risk mitigation and create resolution recommendations related to the delivery of the change program.Job Description
The Manager, Finance Business Applications (Corporate Performance Management) serves as the functional leader for the organization's Corporate Performance Management (CPM) application portfolio, responsible for the administration, support, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise Finance solutions, including OneStream, Oracle Hyperion, BlackLine, and Workiva. Reporting within the Finance organization, this hands-on leadership role leads the Finance Business Applications team and partners closely with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Consolidations, Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting, and other Finance stakeholders to ensure Finance systems effectively support planning, consolidation, financial close, management reporting, external reporting, and regulatory requirements.
This role requires a unique combination of exceptional people leadership, deep Finance systems expertise, business partnership, and operational excellence. The Manager is responsible for developing a high-performing team while driving application strategy, governance, continuous improvement, and the successful delivery of Finance application initiatives. As a key leader supporting the organization's Finance transformation strategy, the Manager will champion innovation by identifying opportunities to modernize Finance through cloud-based (SaaS) solutions, automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and emerging technologies while maintaining a strong internal control environment and ensuring Finance applications remain reliable, scalable, secure, and well governed. Working collaboratively with the Finance Project Management Office (PMO), Information Technology, and strategic software vendors, this leader is responsible for ensuring the Finance Business Applications team successfully delivers work throughout the solution lifecycle, including solution design, configuration, testing, user enablement, deployment, hypercare, and ongoing production support.
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing Finance Business Applications team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
Serve as the functional owner of the Corporate Performance Management application portfolio, including OneStream, Oracle Hyperion, BlackLine, and Workiva.
Build trusted partnerships with FP&A, Consolidations, Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting, and other Finance stakeholders to understand business priorities and deliver technology-enabled solutions that improve Finance operations.
Provide leadership for the ongoing administration, enhancement, governance, and optimization of Finance business applications, ensuring they continue to meet evolving business and regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline Finance processes, automate manual activities, improve reporting capabilities, and enhance the overall user experience.
Champion the adoption of cloud-based (SaaS) technologies, automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and emerging capabilities that improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and deliver measurable business value.
Partner with the Finance PMO to execute Finance transformation initiatives, ensuring the Finance Business Applications team successfully delivers assigned work throughout the project lifecycle, including solution design, configuration, testing, training, deployment, hypercare, and post-production support.
Collaborate with Information Technology and software vendors to implement scalable, reliable, and well-governed Finance solutions that align with business objectives.
Establish and maintain governance over application configuration, metadata, business rules, reporting structures, user access, security, and business processes.
Ensure Finance systems effectively support planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, financial close, management reporting, external financial reporting, and evolving business requirements.
Maintain a strong internal control environment by ensuring Finance applications support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, segregation of duties (SoD), audit readiness, financial data integrity, and sound governance practices.
Partner with Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance, Information Technology, and external auditors to support regulatory compliance, application controls, and change management processes.
Manage relationships with software vendors and consulting partners, including software renewals, product roadmaps, service delivery, and strategic planning.
Develop operational metrics and service standards while continuously improving the effectiveness, stability, and business value of the Finance application portfolio.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Seven or more years of progressive experience supporting enterprise Finance organizations through Corporate Performance Management (CPM), Financial Close, Financial Reporting, or other Finance business applications.
Three or more years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Deep knowledge of enterprise Finance systems and Finance business processes, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, financial close, management reporting, external financial reporting, and Finance data governance.
Demonstrated experience partnering with Finance leaders to optimize business processes through enterprise Finance applications.
Strong understanding of Finance application governance, internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), segregation of duties (SoD), audit readiness, and financial data integrity.
Exceptional leadership, communication, analytical, organizational, and relationship management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Corporate Performance Management platforms such as OneStream, Oracle Hyperion, BlackLine, Workiva, or comparable enterprise Finance applications.
Experience with cloud-based (SaaS) Finance platforms and modern Finance technology ecosystems.
Experience supporting Finance transformation initiatives, enterprise Finance system implementations, or Finance modernization programs.
Experience evaluating or implementing automation, workflow, robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), or other emerging technologies within Finance organizations.
Experience working within the financial services industry or another highly regulated environment.
