Description
The finance team at SKIP casts a wide net. We of course own day-to-day financials, but because of our growth mindset we drive accountability and look for ways to optimize all areas of the business every day. The Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance will work under the Commercial Finance team at Skip, to help our business teams optimize how decisions are made. The outputs of your work will influence decision making and your recommendations will impact our operational strategy. The role is very hands-on and will require a strong financial reporting background with knowledge of IFRS as well as the ability to comprehend complex business problems in order to support decision makers with actionable data and insights.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving business outcomes and can work with stakeholders and other finance team members.
What’s On Your Plate:
Develop an understanding of the key drivers of growth and profitability at Skip and their interaction with key KPIs or business OKRs.
Build and maintain data-driven models to help support financial planning & analysis activities (for both formal budget/forecast cycles and ongoing active management of our P&L).
Support key initiatives in the business by providing data, insights and recommendations.
Continuously assess new and existing processes for opportunities to automate and/or achieve greater efficiency and reliability. Utilize an extensive suite of internal AI tools at Skip.
Perform variance analysis on both a weekly and monthly basis to keep finance leadership and stakeholders informed on various areas of the P&L across gross margin, other operating costs, etc.
Perform some month-end and annual financial reporting activities, including the preparation/review of working papers and supporting documentation.
Work with your line manager and stakeholders across the business to understand how changes to the Skip platform impact our financial analysis and reporting processes.
Collaborate with peers across the finance team to share best practices and help surface relevant information that may help each other be more effective.
Ensure that any controls related to your role or duties are being performed.
Recipe For Success:
CPA designation with 3-5 years of proven operational experience.
Logical analytical problem solver that is able to spot trends and indicate the key drivers behind it.
Passionate about logistics and customer service, with a desire to help drive business results by diving into data and surfacing insights.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Experience with SQL and/or data analysis tools (Tableau/PowerBI).
Experience with using Artificial Intelligence tools such as Gemini.
Proactive, self-motivated and curious, ability to run with an idea.
Work well under pressure and can balance multiple priorities.
Highly adaptable and passionate for process optimization and internal controls.
Great communication skills and able to
Bonus: Experience working with Workday Financials and Anaplan.
