The Opportunity

Iron Mountain Media & Archive Services (MAS) is the leading global physical and digital media archiving service for the entertainment industry. We provide world-class expertise and technology in media preservation, restoration, and distribution to protect, preserve, and maximize the value of entertainment assets for studios, sports organizations, media companies, record labels, and advertising agencies worldwide. The business unit is committed to secure storage and preservation across the entire asset lifecycle, including climate-appropriate storage and logistics, analog/physical format remediation, digitization, digital preservation, and global distribution.

Reporting directly to the SVP, Marketing, the Vice President, Media & Archive Services serves as the global business owner with end-to-end accountability for a $74M P&L across multiple global centers. Leading a team of 5 direct reports and a total staff of 250, this executive sets and drives the strategy responsible for the overall success of Iron Mountain’s Global MAS business, encompassing revenue, growth, solutioning, service delivery, and EBITDA across the entire suite of offerings. The VP acts as a critical cross-functional orchestrator, partnering with HR, IT, Finance, Solutioning, Implementation, and Product Management to align near-term customer needs with long-term regional and global strategies.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Service Delivery: The VP will be responsible for the performance of all MAS operations. This performance includes customer KPIs for on-time performance, quality, and any other pertinent measurements required by Iron Mountain customer agreements. The VP must be equally adept at identifying root causes of delivery issues, identifying appropriate remediation, and overseeing the remediation activities in the regions. The VP will achieve these through Operational Excellence and Production Management & Cross Functional Coordination.

  • Financial Execution & Oversight: Working with the SVP and the finance business partner, the VP will be responsible for the financial planning and performance of MAS Operations across the globe. This includes financial forecasting and delivering the financial results expected by the business.  In partnership with the finance business partner through the analysis of trends and the monitoring of P&L, the VP will manage financial performance of the five operating regions.  They will develop and execute appropriate plans to achieve targets based on current performance and forecasted trends.  Working alongside directors and the finance business partner, the VP will develop gap plans to minimize risk of missing financial objectives and to manage annual operating and capex budgets that are consistent with market strategy.  With responsibility for increasing market share and improving profitability, the VP will be charged with pricing and structuring deals to acquire new business with the objectives of maintaining a high rate of growth, favorable internal rate of return, and economic margin.

  • Business Development: The VP will drive revenue growth for each region by partnering with the sales teams in developing, identifying, and implementing marketing and selling strategies. Partnering with sales and customer service teams, the VP will ensure SLAs are met and will develop relationships with top customers (strategic, multi-city, and large local).  They will participate in key account renewals with authority to sign contracts. Additionally, the VP will work closely with sales/account management on opportunities as well as on removing obstacles to expedite revenue generation.  They will drive initiatives within the regions and participate in regional acquisitions.

  • Leadership, Talent Development, & Culture: While the VP will need to earn and maintain the role of operational expert for the organization in the region, much focus should be placed on teaching operations management resources and lending experience in order to build scale and develop talent.  The VP should also play a role in identifying high-potential talent that can be counted on for stretch assignments or are ready to serve in expanded roles based upon previous performance.  Succession—as well as contingency—planning will also be part of this leader’s professional mandate. Organizational structure oversight, employee development, and creating a positive and inclusive work environment that values and respects the ideas and experience of all employees, will be critical aspects of the role.

Skills & Capabilities

  • General Management Mindset: Proven ability to balance revenue growth creation with disciplined strategic execution.

  • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and lead large, diverse, and highly technical teams.

  • Advanced Financial & Business Acumen: Highly skilled in analyzing complex financial statements, forecasting performance, measuring to budget, and evaluating internal rates of return.

  • Matrix Navigation: Ability to operate collaboratively and efficiently through formal and informal channels within a fast-paced, highly-matrixed, and resource-competitive global organization.

  • Customer-Obsessed Solutioning: Strong capability to validate the alignment of custom offerings against the highly specific strategic requirements of global entertainment and media clients.

The Ideal Candidate Characteristics & Credentials

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience within media archiving, technology-led services, or corporate information management fields (preferred).

  • Demonstrated experience managing a P&L of similar scope, size, and global complexity, with a clear focus on market-facing capabilities.

  • Proven track record of building successful short- and long-term business plans that drive operational excellence and commercial growth.

  • Strong background in talent development, succession planning, contingency planning, and creating positive, inclusive cultures that scale leadership capabilities.

  • Experience in independent decision-making, supporting large customer groups, and directing highly visible, multi-region projects.

  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time (or as required)

Reasonably expected salary range: $270,500.00 - $360,700.00
