LVN - FULL-TiME
Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center
Midland, Texas
The behavioral health LVN provides direct patient care, administers medications, monitors vital signs, and performs basic patient assessments under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Nursing Managers. They also help with patient education, assist with daily activities, and document patient data to support treatment planning for individuals with mental and emotional health needs.
Job duties and responsibilities:
• Monitors and document patient behavior, progress, and responses to treatment.• Administers prescribed medications, including psychotropic medications, changes bandages, and notes patient reactions.• Assists patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene.• Takes and records vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate).• Conducts focused patient assessments, collects data, and documents it in patient charts for the supervising nurses, physicians.• Works with other staff, such as psychiatrists, to help implement treatment plans.• Facilitates group therapy sessions or recreational activities.• Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Requirements/Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED, and completion of a LVN program.• Current, active LVN license to practice in the state of Texas.• Minimum of one year of experience in a behavioral health setting, such as psychiatric or substance use disorder nursing.• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team, strong observation skills, and knowledge of basic nursing care and patient safety protocols are essential.
