Location: White Plains, New York
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
Pay Range: $48.90–$73.36 per hour

Job Overview
A healthcare organization in White Plains, New York, is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join its outpatient imaging team.
The MRI Technologist will perform routine and selected advanced MRI examinations while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and a positive patient experience. This position requires strong technical knowledge, careful patient positioning, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with radiologists and other clinical staff.
The role is primarily outpatient and may include coverage at additional outpatient imaging locations based on operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and selected special-procedure MRI examinations
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for each imaging protocol
- Review patient history and complete required MRI safety screening and body-part questionnaires
- Ensure proper documentation and image labeling
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images and review completed studies for technical quality and completeness
- Assist radiologists and physicians during procedures when needed
- Educate patients and family members regarding scheduled examinations and what to expect
- Provide age-appropriate care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout MRI procedures
- Perform required quality assurance testing and equipment calibrations
- Maintain MRI equipment, coils, accessories, and scanning areas
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly
- Follow established MRI safety standards throughout all MRI zones
- Provide STAT images to radiologists and communicate urgent findings or reports to appropriate clinical staff when directed
- Prepare patient imaging CDs when requested
- Assist with basic office and patient-flow responsibilities, including:
- Answering phones
- Checking in patients
- Obtaining previous imaging reports or films
- Communicating examination completion to front-desk staff
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education
- Serve as an instructor or preceptor when assigned
- Rotate to other outpatient imaging locations as needed
- Assist with emergency imaging coverage when required
- Perform other related imaging responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate from an accredited Radiologic Technology school or hospital-based radiography program
- ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging – ARRT(MR) upon hire
- New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license upon hire
- American Heart Association BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- IV certification within 180 days of hire
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety and imaging protocols
- Ability to safely work throughout all MRI zones
- Strong patient-positioning and image-quality skills
- Excellent communication and customer-service abilities
- Ability to work effectively with patients across a wide range of ages and clinical needs
Preferred
- 1–3 years of MRI Technologist experience
- Previous outpatient MRI experience
- Experience assisting with MRI procedures
- Previous preceptor or clinical teaching experience
- Experience working across multiple outpatient imaging locations
Schedule
- Primary shift: 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Alternate work schedule
- Outpatient setting
- May rotate to other outpatient imaging locations
- Hours and duties may vary based on operational needs
- Occasional holiday, overtime, day, evening, or overnight coverage may be required to maintain safe staffing
