Job Description:

The Financial Crime Risk Investigation Support Officer II processes alerts and/or fraud cases to derive regulatory and policy violations that contributed to fraud and/or AML and Sanctions/ABAC financial crime.  Ensures necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all transactions/activities.

Depth & Scope:

  • Prioritizes and manages own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
  • Understands and applies operating policies and procedures
  • Follows internal and industry regulations and operating practices in completing and recording transactions for either the organization or clients
  • Escalates non-standard or high-risk activities as necessary
  • Ensures documentation that is prepared/completed is accurate and properly reflects business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules/regulations
  • Completes adjudications and investigations – reports/escalates risk issues or process gaps identified
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency
  • Ensures necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all transactions/activities

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience 

Preferred Skills : 

  • Willing and able to cross train within multiple name screening functions
  • Works well independently and with a group
  • Proficient in Technology and able to navigate across multiple systems 

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Prioritizes and manages own workload to meet service level requirements for service and productivity
  • Understands and applies operating policies and procedures
  • Follows internal policies and industry regulations and operating practices in completing and recording transactions
  • Escalates non-standard or high-risk activities as necessary
  • Reports/escalates risk issues or process gaps identified
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to resolve business issues
  • Reviews banking transactions to ensure they are within the bank and regulatory thresholds and guidelines
  • Forwards unusual transactions and supporting information for further review
  • Performs a variety of research activities including addressing research discrepancies
  • Identifies opportunities to improve service delivery and support process improvement initiatives and opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency
  • Ensures necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all transactions/activities
  • Is knowledgeable of and complies with Bank Code of Conduct

  • Is knowledgeable of practices and procedures within own area of responsibility and Bank Code of Conduct
  • Protects the interests of the organization – identifies and manages risks, and escalates non-standard, high-risk transactions/activities as necessary
  • Follows internal and industry regulations and operating practices in completing and recording transactions for either the organization or clients
  • Produces reporting or documentation at the functional or enterprise level
  • May maintain appropriate project records, databases, and information; reports to management and others on project status and updates
  • Identifies, recommends, and effectively executes standard practices applicable to the discipline
  • Adheres to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
