Position Summary

As the GCS (Gas & Chemical Systems) Gas Systems Engineering Manager at Samsung you will be responsible for all aspects of gas supply to the site. This includes ensuring all Operations, Maintenance, and Projects meet site needs, and continuously improving in these areas as the leader of a world-class team.

In this position, you are responsible for multiple engineering teams, as well as associated contractors and vendors. You will achieve outstanding execution and safety performance in daily 24/7 operations and maintenance of gas supply systems. You will guide project teams to develop and execute projects to expand capacity, and improve safety and reliability in material supply. You will collaborate with contractors and vendors to complete long term projects to upgrade and expand material supply infrastructure. You will be a champion of safety and world’s-best performance in all work.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Leadership and participation in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance.
  • Capital and capacity project oversight, including participating in the design and selection of equipment and options for large scale supply systems.
  • Drive improvements in equipment and part management, employing lean principles effectively.
  • Serve as an ideal representative of the department and site to external groups and agencies.
  • Co-work with the operations teams responsible for gas and chemical supply.
  • Co-work with the maintenance teams responsible for equipment planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance to local, state, and national codes and compliance requirements (including PSM/RMP).
  • Develop and manage annual expense budgets.
  • Support commercial negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects.
  • Collaborate with material-focused departments to optimize material use, handling, and cost.
  • Lead the development of safety and quality projects to improve GCS system performance and reliability.
  • Continually drive group culture toward greater learning, development, and overall job satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • BS degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, or related technical field.

  • 8+ years of experience in facilities or semiconductor engineering.

  • 4+ years of experience leading equipment engineering teams in a large scale manufacturing environment.

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to personally represent the group in all matters to executive levels (internal and external).

The current base salary range for this role is between $147,000 - $200,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
