Senior Advisor - Land Access

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Land Access Advisor to join our Infrastructure Delivery team in our Melbourne Southbank office on a permanent full-time basis.

Working in the Infrastructure Delivery team, you will play a key role in delivering land tenure acquisition, landholder negotiations and land access activities that enable APA's infrastructure projects.

Working closely with project teams, landholders and stakeholders, you will be responsible for managing an allocated portfolio of landholders, securing land access agreements and supporting the successful delivery of project access requirements. You will build trusted relationships, negotiate land tenure outcomes and proactively identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated portfolio of landholders and stakeholders to secure project access requirements and support project delivery objectives.

• Prepare, negotiate and execute land access agreements, tenure arrangements and option documents to secure appropriate land tenure outcomes.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with landholders, government agencies, consultants and project teams, ensuring all negotiations are conducted professionally and respectfully.

• Identify, assess and manage land access risks, issues and stakeholder concerns, escalating complex matters where required.

• Ensure land access activities comply with statutory obligations, internal policies, project commitments and governance requirements.

• Manage specialist service providers, including valuers and other consultants, to support project delivery outcomes.

Your Background

• Demonstrated experience in land access, land tenure, property, easements or a related discipline within infrastructure, energy, utilities, resources or similar project environments.

• Proven experience negotiating land access agreements and securing tenure outcomes with landholders and other stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of land access processes, tenure arrangements and compliance requirements.

• Experience managing stakeholder relationships and navigating complex negotiations in project-based environments.

• Ability to identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies associated with land access activities.

• Ability and willingness to undertake periodic travel to project locations, to support stakeholder engagement and land access activities. Travel requirements vary depending on project needs and may increase during key project phases, together with a current driver's licence.
