Job Summary

The IT Manager, Development & Integration is a strategic technology leader responsible for leading a team of software engineers, integration engineers, and platform specialists who deliver scalable, secure, and reusable technology solutions across the enterprise.

This role provides both technical leadership and people leadership, ensuring the organization delivers high-quality software, integrations, developer platforms, and engineering enablement capabilities that accelerate business value. The IT Manager will establish engineering standards, drive adoption of modern development practices, build reusable capabilities, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will balance hands-on technical leadership with team development, stakeholder partnership, and operational excellence.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers, integration engineers, and platform specialists.
• Establish clear goals, expectations, and career development plans for team members.
• Foster a culture focused on collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
• Recruit, retain, and develop technical talent to meet evolving business and technology needs.
• Promote employee engagement and create an environment where individuals can thrive and grow.

Enterprise Software Engineering

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and support of enterprise applications and custom software solutions.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and business objectives.
• Drive adoption of modern software engineering practices, including Agile delivery, DevSecOps, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Promote software quality, maintainability, scalability, and operational resiliency.

Integration Engineering

• Lead the strategy and delivery of enterprise integrations connecting business applications, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
• Establish standards and reusable integration patterns that improve speed, consistency, and reliability.
• Ensure integrations are secure, scalable, supportable, and aligned with data governance requirements.
• Partner with application teams to simplify system connectivity and improve data flow across the enterprise.

Developer Platform & Engineering Enablement

• Own and evolve enterprise developer platforms and engineering tooling, including source control, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and development accelerators.
• Drive adoption of GitHub Enterprise and associated engineering best practices across development teams.
• Establish and maintain golden-path templates, reusable components, standards, and self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity.
• Create and implement engineering guidelines, policies, and governance that balance consistency with team autonomy.
• Enable engineering teams through documentation, training, coaching, and platform support.

Technology Strategy & Governance

• Translate business and technology strategy into actionable engineering roadmaps and priorities.
• Partner with architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to establish technology standards and best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and development tools to improve engineering effectiveness and business outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with security, risk management, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Partnership & Delivery

• Build strong relationships with business leaders, divisional engineering teams, IT partners, vendors, and managed service providers.
• Provide leadership for project execution, delivery planning, and resource management.
• Manage demand intake, prioritization, and capacity planning for the team's services and capabilities.
• Communicate technology direction, project status, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure delivery commitments are met while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, application development, integration engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience leading enterprise software development and system integration initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, architectural thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, integration technologies, and modern application architectures.
• Experience implementing Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and software delivery best practices.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Experience with workflow automation, AI-enabled capabilities, or process improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing departmental priorities, budgets, and resource planning.

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications:

• Prior people leadership experience managing technical teams and developing engineering talent
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, and developer platform enablement.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and development accelerators.
• Experience leading platform engineering or developer experience initiatives.
• Experience leveraging AI-enabled development tools and engineering productivity solutions.
• Experience managing vendors and third-party technology service providers.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and governance practices.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Strong technical leadership capabilities across software engineering, integration engineering, developer platforms, and enterprise technology solutions.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts, risks, and tradeoffs effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to build effective partnerships with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and managed service providers while driving technology modernization, development, platform standardization and adoption, and engineering transformation initiatives.

Technical Skills - current environment (Preferred)

• Strong C#/.NET experience across both legacy .NET Framework and modern .NET applications
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, T-SQL, and PL/SQL
• Enterprise integration experience using REST APIs, SOA, JSON, XML, and file-based patterns
• Strong knowledge of enterprise Windows and Linux servers, including application hosting, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and production support
• Experience with Nginx, IIS, secrets management, and secure application configuration
• Working knowledge of CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, and automated application deployment
• Ability to lead a mixed application portfolio while maintaining reliability, security, and business continuity

Desired Skillsets - Future-State Engineering (Preferred)

• Experience architecting robust, cloud-first enterprise applications, preferably within Microsoft Azure
• Event-driven architecture and pub/sub messaging experience using RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or similar
• Application containerization using Docker and modern container hosting or orchestration platforms
• Experience establishing reusable frameworks, APIs, integration patterns, and golden-path application templates
• Strong DevSecOps, automated testing, observability, resiliency, and modern CI/CD practices
• Demonstrated ability to modernize legacy applications and transform a development team into a scalable enterprise engineering organization

Salary range for this position is: $160,000 to $190,000 annually.

The base pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
