Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance activities while managing work orders, schedules, and contractor coordination. The technician operates heavy machinery safely and complies with all applicable regulations and company standards. By identifying repair and replacement needs, this position supports operational efficiency and quality. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to maintain facility integrity and uphold Walmart’s commitment to safety, ethics, and continuous improvement.

The Facility Services team ensures the reliable operation and upkeep of food equipment and related facilities to support daily business activities. They perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs to maintain safety and functionality. The team manages maintenance schedules, coordinates with contractors, and ensures compliance with regulations. Utilizing technical expertise, members quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Committed to quality service and operational continuity, the team fosters a safe work environment through proactive maintenance and clear communication, playing a vital role in supporting Walmart’s overall business success.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect, clean, and repair facilities and equipment while documenting wear, repair needs, and replacement requirements.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Order parts, track purchases, submit warranty claims, and conduct price comparisons for cost efficiency.
- Identify hazards, report deficiencies, and take corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with teams to implement processes that meet business needs and support continuous improvement.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures following established schedules and safety guidelines.
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with training and certification requirements.
- Strong skills in managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination with accurate documentation and reporting.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA and EPA standards to ensure compliance and quality work.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support collaboration, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and commitment to company policies, ethics, and safety standards.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
