Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves configuring controls, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician performs preventive maintenance, manages service calls, and supports operational efficiency while collaborating with management and customers. Effective communication and technical proficiency are essential to deliver reliable system performance and support business continuity across multiple facilities. This position requires adherence to company policies and safety standards at all times.

The Facility Services HVAC-Refrigeration team focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. The team ensures system efficiency by configuring controls, troubleshooting issues, and conducting preventive maintenance. Members work closely with management and customers to provide dependable service while following safety and regulatory requirements. They apply technical expertise in HVAC controls and strong communication skills to support smooth operations. What you'll do:
- Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
- Conduct inspections and repairs in compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations.
- Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
- Communicate technical information effectively with customers and coordinate service calls using digital tools.
- Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in configuring and calibrating HVAC controls, including low ambient systems and direct digital controls.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues following EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
- Effective communication skills to explain technical issues and collaborate with customers and team members.
- Ability to lead and mentor field teams while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Competence in managing service calls, inventory tracking, and digital scheduling tools.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
