What you'll do...
Role summary:The Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, leads the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role oversees preventive maintenance programs, manages refrigerant handling, and coordinates field teams to optimize equipment performance. The position requires detailed documentation, vendor coordination, and participation in on-call rotations to support critical business needs. The Senior Technician also mentors team members, supports process improvements, and contributes to special projects, driving operational excellence and reliability across facility services.

What you'll do:
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
- Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial and industrial equipment.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Manage refrigerant handling and compliance with OSHA, EPA, and HVAC/R codes, including environmental and safety standards.
- Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating technician skill development.
- Maintain parts inventory, vendor relationships, and service schedules to meet operational priorities.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support critical business needs and incident resolution.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant handling protocols, and HVAC/R codes.
- Ability to lead and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and technical guidance.
- Proficiency in managing preventive maintenance programs and maintaining detailed work documentation.
- Skilled in coordinating service calls, parts inventory, and vendor relationships to meet operational needs.
- Capability to operate company vehicles safely and comply with related policies and procedures.

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
