What you'll do...
Role summary:The Senior Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, managing maintenance schedules, overseeing less-experienced associates, and coordinating with contractors and suppliers. The position requires adherence to safety and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate documentation and budget oversight. The Senior Technician also provides hands-on training and supports continuous improvement efforts to uphold quality and operational excellence across company facilities.
About the team:
The team supports Walmart Supercenters and Sam’s Clubs by maintaining landscapes through mowing, trimming, and related projects. They manage scheduled assignments with a focus on quality and safety compliance, coordinating resources efficiently. Team members conduct equipment inspections and adhere to safety standards, including OSHA guidelines. Effective communication and project management are essential to meet operational goals. This group plays a vital role in sustaining facility aesthetics and functionality, contributing to a well-maintained environment that supports business operations and enhances customer satisfaction.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Lead and oversee work of less-experienced associates, providing hands-on training and guidance.
- Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, parts inventory, and contractor relationships to ensure quality and compliance.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety and regulatory standards.
- Document maintenance activities, budget information, and warranty claims accurately.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and ensure completed work meets all safety and code requirements.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance.
- Proficiency in multiple crafts such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment operation.
- Ability to diagnose issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Skilled in operating hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong leadership capabilities to oversee projects, mentor associates, and coordinate contractors.
- Competence in managing maintenance schedules, work orders, parts inventory, and budget reporting.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 6 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
